Richard Rahnsid, Trofim Lysenko Fellow

Richard 'Dicky' Rahnsid is the quintessential think-tank scholar. He writes about science in the Washington Times although he has no scientific training or peer-reviewed publications, and a poor grasp of basic algebra. He is a public policy expert (self-identified), a business entrepreneur (two bankruptcies), a political analyst (a blatant hack), and an advisor to powerful Republicans and large corporations (a sycophant). His writing about science overflows with arrogance born of a C minus in high school chemistry (he never again entered a science classroom). He lectures on faith, morals and Christian methods of child-rearing to pay debts from frequent trips to Atlantic City with his friend William Bennett. Dicky believes that global warming will be beneficial to humankind, that tax cuts increase government revenue, that the war in Iraq is going well, that George W. Bush is a deep intellect and successful president, that Intelligent Design is a legitimate scientific theory, and that liberals are foolish and irrational.

Dicky serves as informal counselor and advisor to the president of Montenegro, whom he met in a web chat room. He is advisor to the temporarily incarcerated ex-minister of finance of Ecuador. Other current public policy activities include membership on the Board of Directors of the Off-Shore Money Laundering Association, as the Trofim Lysenko Fellow of the reDiscovery Institute, and as a scholar at the Taco Institute. He has been interviewed by Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, John Gibson, and Neil Cavuto (always on Fox, naturally). He was a Wannabe Member of the Board of Directors of Enron. Mr. Rahnsid co-chaired the influential ad hoc commission on "Faith-based Principles for Navigation on the Inland Waterways". He speaks German with frequent errors in gender, and is dimly aware that some people speak Chinese, French and Hindi. Dicky is Bebe Rebozo's godchild.

Dr. David Klang Klinghoffer, Fellow

Klang Klinghoffer has a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Cincinnati Theological Seminary and Technical Institute. His masters thesis treated philosophers of science Connie Morris, Edwin Meese and William Bennett. He has published in academic and popular journals such as Religion for the Reluctant, Faith by Force, and Jesus for Jews: by the Rack. He has published letters to the editor editorial features in the Oman Times, the Bengali Bugle, the Bemidji High School Parent Newsletter, the Bombay Bombast, and the Seattle Post Intelligent Designer.

Klang Klinghoffer is a founder of the Center for Promotion of Abstinence and Venereal Disease, a Member of the Board of Reason-Free America and a Fellow of the reDiscovery Institute. Klang Klinghoffer advertises himself as "a dynamic, entertaining speaker for all ages." To book him for a speech or a child's birthday party (for a fee, obviously), contact Klang Klinghoffer's agent, Muldred Muttering, Muttering Associates.

One of Klang Klinghoffer's famous quotes: The theory of Chemical Design poses the question of whether life can be explained, as Mendeleev said, by purely material processes. Mendeleevism insists that bonding and molecular interactions are fully sufficient to create you and me from atoms. Deep thinking Chemical Design theorists such as Dr. Klang Klinghoffer (me, coincidentally) believe a jealous god's designer's hand is at work. We doubt that the software in the cell, DNA, is just atoms, bonded together. We doubt that oxidation of sugars provides energy for ATP synthesis. Our absolute and glorious ignorance of basic scientific concepts empowers our imaginations and frees our minds.

Phillip Johnson, Fellow

Mr. Johnson is a brilliant Court Room Biologist (no training in biology required) who has developed a framework to wed the scientific and legal methods. He has replaced the outdated phrase 'Hypothesis Testing' with the more modern and useful 'Perjury Trapping'. He switched "Experimental Methods" to "Crime Scene Investigation". He converted "Experimental Results" to "Evidence". The old-fashioned and out-dated "References" section is transformed to the "Enemies List". A scientific "Discussion" is, in Mr. Johnson's construct, the "Closing Arguments".

Mr. Johnson is an expert 'quote miner' who surgically separates words and phrases from their contexts. Like a fancy french baker working with highly refined dough, Mr. Johnson folds, twists, smooths and flattens tiny fragments of the works of biologists from Darwin to Gould, creating brand new meanings that the authors never conceived.

With his influential 1981 book, 'Mendeleev on my Mind', Mr. Johnson has shaped the current campaign against Chemical Periodicity. Equally important are his 1988 classics, 'Eisenberg in Error' and 'Debunking de Broglie', which in combination demolish the foundations of modern physics. He is recognized as the leading spokesman for the Design Movement. Johnson invented the highly effective Ice Pick Gambit: "Until we gain total contol, keep the old testament part of our agenda in house, because it frightens normal people."

Little Willie Dembski, Piltdown Fellow

Dr. Willie Dembski is Piltdown Fellow of the reDiscovery Institute. He is founder of the Web Blog "Sex, Lies and DNA", where he expounds on the study of biology. But he never does any biology himself, nor does he publish anything in peer-reviewed journals. He is a con artist of a mathematician, a fake-philosopher and biological charlatan. He is the Assistant Secretary of the Ann Coulter Fan Club. He works diligently at the task of CV puffery, referring to himself as a PUBLIC INTELLECTUAL. He is the author of Creative Creationism: Dissimulating for God, and the best seller in the home schooling market, The Old Testament: A Practical and Complete Study Guide for Calculus and Analytical Geometry.

Little Willie balances his important obligations as Chief Executive Director of the Advanced International Institute of Pretentious Designations and Academic Titles with his work as Principle Investigator of the Center of the Absence of Substance and Lack of Progress. Dembski is the primo- big- enchilada- head- honcho- big- fish- important- guy of the Society for the Promotion of Pseudoscientific Confusion.

In The Design Deduction: Bad Man does Bad Math, Little Willie shows how dishonesty, along with errors in assumptions, logic, statistics, algebra, long division and grammar lead to totally fantastic and unbelievable conclusions. The sequel to The Design Deduction, entitled No Free Lunch: Why Brains Cannot Be Begged, Borrowed or Stolen, Willie repeats the same arguments verbatim - only the titles distinguish these two books. Little Willie's most recent book is a co-edited collection with
Gimmick the Jerk (aka Michael Ruse), entitled TV Scientists on Quaalude: Joined at the Hip. Little Willie has just received a big advance on his next book, entitled Colons: Every Book Title Needs One: Maybe Even Two.

One of Little Willie's famous quotes: "A theory is more impressive the greater the complexity of its premises, the fewer the kinds of things it relates, and the less extended its range of applicability. Therefore, the deep impression which Intelligent Design made on me. It is the only physical theory with a built in on/off switch. I am convinced, as the framework of applicability of its basic concepts approaches a volume of zero, Intelligent Design will never go away. "
